Ghana’s powerlifting president passes away

The President of the Ghana Powerlifting Federation (GPF), Goodwill Agyeman, passed away today 1st June 2020.

According to reports, Agyeman who was a member of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) died after he complained of heart and chest pains, and was rushed to the hospital.

The businessman man’s passing is a big blow to members of the Ghana Weightlifting, Powerlifting, and Armwrestling Federations as he was close to them.

BACKGROUND

Goodwill Agyeman is the President of the Ghana Powerlifting Federation (GPF) the country’s only powerlifting governing body.

Under his leadership the country has gained many laurels from Juliana Arkoh four gold medals at the 8th Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship 2019 to 4-time West African champion and 2019 Africa powerlifting king, Ebenezer Nii Armah praised the deceased for giving them the opportunity to represent the country.
