GTF to hold sprint race in Ada

President of the Ghana Triathlon Federation (GTF), Bawa Fuseini, has revealed that the federation is looking to hold a sprint race at the Dreamland Hotel in Ada before the year ends.

Bawa revealed that preparations for the event are far advanced and that the federation will be doing some further checks before releasing an official date.

“We have a plan of doing a sprint race at Ada which preparations are far advanced. We will go there to test the water next week and if the water testing results come good then we will go ahead and do it at Dreamland Hotel.”

The GTF President also spoke about 2021 revealing plans to hold a number of events including one to honour former Australian Ambassador Andrew Barnes. “Coming next year, we will also do our African Triathlon Cup at Labadi; which is an African Cup, which is also an Olympic Qualification, it’s also a roadmap towards 2023 (Africa Games)”

“We will also continue doing our Legon Sprint Series at the University of Ghana, Legon and we want to do one competition for the former Australian Ambassador, Andrew Barnes, we want to give him a very befitting farewell.”

“He left Ghana, so we will still do it in his absence. The current Australian Ambassador (Gregory Andrews) will be invited to come and stand in for him.” He concluded
