Hearts fans told to forget about Joseph Esso

Accra Hearts Of Oak forward, Abednego Tetteh, has said in an interview with Kumasi-based Hello FM that he believes that Joseph Esso’s departure from the Rainbow club is a blessing in disguise as it would give other players at the club the opportunity to exhibit the talent.

“Whatever happens, is good. At times we don’t understand why certain things happen in this world. Esso is not a child, he’s a grown-up and knows what is good for him. If he feels like playing for Hearts again, that’s good or travelling abroad, is also fine, to him. We all hope to progress in life.” Tetteh said

“I think we should all forget about the issue. Will we call him to come and play if he dies? We should take it like we have lost something that we’ll not get again and focus on the league when football returns.” He added

Tetteh signed for Hearts Of Oak back in January but is yet to play a game for the Accra-based side due to the cancellation of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Hearts of Oak earlier this month revealed in a Facebook post that they had decided not to extend the contracts of Benjamin Agyare, Christopher Bonney, Aboubacar Traoré, Bernard Arthur and most notably Joseph Esso which sparked anger in some supporters of the club as they blamed the club’s management for his exit.

Esso who sign for the capital-based club back in 2018 from Ebusua Dwarfs scored 3 goals in 14 appearances for Phobia in the cancelled 2019/2020 GPL season.
