Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder, Emmanuel Nettey, has revealed his disappointment at the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) decision to cancel the 2019/2020 football season.
Nettey revealed this in an interview with CitiSports revealing that although he is disappointed with the decision, he has come to terms with it. “It was kind of a blow to me because I was expecting the resumption of the league, so we can continue from where we left off,”
“But then the decision they took, they thought it wasn’t right for football to resume, so in as much as it was a blow to me, I have no other option than to take it as it is then to slow down on my training,” Nettey further said.
The GFA announced its decision to cancel the 2019/2020 football season following an over 5 hours long Executive Council meeting held on Tuesday 30th June 2020 at the GFA Secretariat in Accra, with the association announcing their decision on their official Twitter handle.
The Ghana FA is however set to meet on Thursday 9th June 2020 to plan the way forward for the 2020/2021 season.
