Incumbent Member of Parliament of the New Patriotic Party’s Tema East constituency Titus Glover’s close contender in the Parliamentary race, Benjamin Ashitey Armah, has stated that he has given each of the 767 delegates that voted in the internal polls GH¢550, while Titus Glover gave them tabletop fridges and a Ghc 1,000 cash.
Speaking about his loss at the primaries, on an Accra based Television station CTV, the aspirant disclosed that, he uses the little resources he has to do his politics adding that, he was able to give each of the 767 delegates in the Tema East Constituency GH¢550.
Titus Glover polled 522 votes to beat Benjamin Ashitey Armah, who got 233 votes out of a total ballot of 755 vote cast.
In a reaction to how he raised the money to pay the delegates, he revealed that he has been in the shipping industry for a very long time and has his own business in the logistics field, so he does everything according to his financial might.
“It is the delegates’ decision that they will go for the money instead of competence” he added
He alleged that Titus-Glover gave each delegate a tabletop fridge, GH¢1000 and even went the extra mile to give some delegates who he knew were behind him an extra GH¢500.
However, he debunked the accusation that they use the money to entice delegates and argued that they give them to transport and compensated them for the opportunities they may have lost as a result of leaving their homes and jobs to come and vote.
