IGP calls for peace at all times in the Savannah Region

The Inspector General of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh has appealed to the people of the Savannah Region to ensure peace at all times, including during the upcoming elections.

He said the Savannah police did an excellent job in fishing out culprits connected to the lynching of a 90-year old woman, Akua Denteh.
He said “Let me thank the Savannah Regional Minister for supporting the police administration which led to the arrest of some of the suspects connected to the lynching of the 90-year-old woman at Kafaba.”
He made this remark when he paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa, yesterday.
The IGP assured the Overlord that the police administration will establish more police posts across the country.
For his part, Savannah Regional Minister, Adam Salifu Braimah, commended the police administration for their continuous efforts in ensuring peace in the Region.
“The Region is grateful to you and your men for the swiftness in responding to events in the past that compromised security”, he said.
