Jerry Rawlings applauds Prof. Jane Opoku Agyeman’s appointments as the Vice of John Mahama



Information gathered by from Daily Mail source suggests that, the former President and Military leader, Jerry John Rawlings has lauded the appointment of Prof. Jane Opoku Agyemang as the Vice President of the opposition National Democratic Congress.

According to the source, Rawlings said prior to the announcement of Professor Jane Opoku Agyemang’s Vice Presidential candidature, he was informed by the party’s Presidential candidate, former President John Dramani Mahama that following consultations with the party hierarchy, Professor Opoku-Agyemang was the favourite among a list of shortlisted candidates.

He suggested that, If this was the case then there was no reason to stand against it even though he had few others in mind.

His response to the new development was when the former President and leading party executives called on him on Thursday to introduce the Vice-Presidential candidate.

In the former President’s words of advice, urged John Mahama’s Vice President not to deviate from her principles of integrity adding that, Ghanaians should go out to register towards the December Presidential and Parliamentary elections, but called on political parties to desist from activities that will create civil unrest.

Notable among the bigwigs of the Party who thronged the former President house were, the General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia NDC National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and Vice Chairman Kofi Attoh.

Asiedu Nketia noted that, Professor Opoku Agyemang was a very good choice and very outstanding adding that, he was confident the party will win the upcoming elections.
