John Mahama flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has promised to add Free Primary Health Care Plan (FPHC) to the current National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) if voted into power come December.
Speaking during a courtesy call on the Wa Naa, Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV, today Wednesday August 2, in the Upper West Region, He indicated that, the implemetation of the FREE Primary Health Care Plan will contribute to a faster attainment of universal health care for all Ghanaians.
John Mahama, however, explained that, the Free Primary Health Care Plan is not coming to replace the National Health Insurance Scheme but ensure that all Ghanaians can receive quality primary health care for free.
Meanwhile, the flagbearer also made promises on region’s projects stating that, he has confirmed the pledge and commitment of the NDC not only to continue the numerous abandoned projects in the region, but also refurbish the Wa Municipal Hospital.
Adding that, seed money will be provided for the operations of the Upper West Regional Hospital, develop the Wa Airport.
The former President further promised to construct more health facilities across the region and in Wa, as well as improve educational and other infrastructure.
