KNUST denies Emmanuel Awuah as being its student and threatens legal action against the media


Authorities of the Kwame Nkrumah University Of Science and Technology (KNUST) have denied that Emmanuel Awuah who was reported to have murdered an uber driver is a student of the University.

According to a statement issued by the University, Emmanuel Awuah did not register for the first and second semesters of the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 academic years.

Thus, abandoning his programme of study at the university.

The statement, signed by the University’s Relations Officer, Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, said “a student who abandons his course for one full academic year without any cause, ceases to be a student of the university”.

The university emphasizes therefore that Master Emmanuel Awuah is not a student and therefore urged the police to apprehend his accomplice and bring them to justice.

The statement further threatens legal action against the media for misreportage against the University and advised that the media should endeavour to cross check facts properly with the University Relations Office before tarnishing the hard won reputation of the University.

The statement concludes that the KNUST is committed to providing holistic education aimed at producing men and women with decent character and highest level of integrity.
