Kotoko end deal with Club Consult Africa

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have announced that they have terminated their kit sponsorship deal with Club Consult Africa.

The club revealed this in a statement on Wednesday 7th October 2020 stating that a new ‘befitting’ kit sponsor will be announced soon.

“We wish to assure our most cherished stakeholders that a new befitting kits sponsor will not only be announced shortly but also our fans will be given the opportunity to select their preferred design for the 2020/21 football season.” The statement read

According to reports, there had been concerns raised about the quality of the kits supplied by Club Consult Africa, as well as disagreements with some terms of the deal.

Talks had been held between the club and Club Consult Africa, with the Porcupine Warriors resolved in their stance to end the deal early.

Kotoko back in 2018 signed a 3-year deal with Strike, which was supposed to see the company become the kits sponsor for the Ghana Premier League (GPL) giants till 2021.

As part of the deal, the club was guaranteed GH₵50, 000 for signing the partnership plus the accrual of more revenue from the sales of replica jerseys and paraphernalia to be made available by Strike.
