In what has been the worst kept secret in Ghana football, Ghana Premier League (GPL) giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko have officially unveiled former President of Division One side Phar Rangers, Nana Yaw Amponsah, as the club’s new Chief Executive Officier (CEO).
The Porcupine Warriors who have been without a CEO since the dissolving of the George Amoako-led management back in June officially unveiled the former Ghana Football Association (GFA) aspirant earlier today 7th August 2020 at the Sports Hotel in Kumasi.
Amponsah’s who according to reports will be signing a three-year deal to serve as the International Federation of Football History & Statistics’ (IFFHS) African Club of the 20th Century’s CEO.
Kotoko board member Kofi Amoah Abban, has already tipped the new CEO for success taking to social media to say “It is wonderful to see a lot of our fans excited with Nana Yaw Amponsah’s appointment. On behalf of the entire Board of Directors of the club, I wish him great success at Asante Kotoko! A new era begins!!!”
He also received the backing of former Wa All Stars CEO, Samuel Oduro Nyarko, who said the Porcupine Warriors have gotten the right person to lead them “Kotoko has gotten a very good leader, a young astute, intelligent, and efficient person. He has the willingness to sever, I pray he severs Kotoko with the knowledge he has in football” Samuel told Otec FM
“I believe that Nana Yaw Amponsah will take Kotoko to the promised land if given the nod. I only pray that God will give him the strength and wisdom to run the club. I’m happy for him” He added.
Amponsah is a FIFA Intermediary who has youth development at heart as well as strong international links which could expose the GPL giants to the modern trends of the game worldwide.
