According to reports English Premier League (EPL) side Leeds United are interested in signing Hamburger SV defender Stephan Ambrosius.
Ambrosius who is eligible to play for both Germany and Ghana has attracted interest from several clubs, with Leeds said to have already made contact with the Germany club over the 21-year-old.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is said to have recently made a move to lure the Germany-born player to don the black and white of the country.
Ambrosius has a year remaining on his contract with the 2. Bundesliga outfit and it is reported that Die Rothosen wouldn’t mind selling him to avoid losing him for free.
With Leeds boss Marcelo ‘El Loco’ Bielsa said to have given the green light for the club to pursue the 21-year-old, as the legendary manager looks to bolster his defence during the 2020/2021 football season.
The German-born Ghanaian has made 5 senior appearances for Hamburger SV with a single assist to his name. The center-back impressed for Die Rothosen second team Hamburger SV II making 52 appearances scoring once and laying off 2 assists.
Ambrosius is yet to decide his international future but he could find it difficult to break into Joachim Löw’s Germany team, which could give confidence in the GFA leadership to get their man.
