Let’s come together to revive women’s football in Ghana-Evelyn Nsiah Asare


President of Nana Afia Kobi Ampem Ladies Football Club Evelyn Nsiah Asare is calling on ladies and authorities into the women’s sports to work together as a unit to give new strength to the game.

According to the current board member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, the new Ghana Football Association are promoting the women’s league but she believes more can be done to ensure the growth of the game among women.

She explained that there should not be division among the ladies at the helm of affairs for the development of the game but there is the need to see to it that the Ghana Football Association in their capacity recognise the elite women’s league and other levels.

“I’m urging my ladies to come together as one,we have done well but I believe more can be done so far as women’s football is concern;let keep liaising with the FA to recognise our league and our game”She said

Speaking on the Confederation of African Football’s move to introduce women’s champions league on the continent she described it as a good move for the development of women’s football on the continent.

The Sunyani Technical University lecturer also said Ghanaian women’s clubs are ready to compete in the competition should the opportunity present itself.

“They are thinking about us and that’s good,it’s a good move,I think it’s long over due,we are ready to play”

Evelyn Nsiah Asare was a member of the local organising committee of the Women’s African cup of Nation(AWCON) hosted in Ghana in 2018
