Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United have 12 days to trigger RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner’s release clause if they want to sign him for less than £50m.

The Germany international who has scored 32 times this season, including 25 goals in 29 Bundesliga games have a €55m (£49m) release clause at RB Leipzig which runs out on Monday, June 15.

Reports suggest Werner is looking to move to a Champions League club, where he will play regular first-team football with Premier League leaders Liverpool said to be the German’s first-choice but the Reds are reported to be unwilling to meet his release clause in the current climate.

Chelsea and Manchester United are also said to have also held talks about signing the 24-year-old but they will have to act fast as his release clause runs out in under 2 weeks.
