Man remanded for trying to disarm policewoman


Seyram Tony Adonu has been remanded in prison custody for attempting to snatch an AK 47 riffle from a policewoman.
The accused was arrested by Lance Corporal Naa Lamptey, with the help of some city guards of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly during an attempt to snatch the riffle from the woman.
The court, presided over by Emmanuel Essandoh, remanded Adonu after he pleaded not guilty.
According to a Daily Graphic report, During interrogation at the police station, Adonu told investigators that he did not know what came over him.
He said something suddenly pushed him to disarm the policewoman whiles he was walking by her at her duty post.
He has been asked to reapperar before court on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.
On July 29, 2020, Adonu approached the policewoman while she was on duty near the Accra post office, attempting to disarm her.
The policewoman overpowered Adonu, the accused before some persons helped to take the assailant to the Accra Regional Police Command.
