Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman Manu is recovering at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) after testing positive for the coronavirus disease.
According to sources who confirmed the information to Citi News, the Dormaa Central MP was admitted at the facility last Tuesday and is said to be in a stable condition.
The 64-year-old Minister has however taken a few days off from work and has not reported to work all week.
Currently, at the University of Ghana Medical Centre, four patients have been admitted at the ICU while several others are in the main ward of the hospital’s COVID-19 unit.
Mr. Agyeman Manu has been urging the public to be cautious in order to stop the spread of the COVID-19, at press briefings held by the Ministry of Information.
Mayor of the Sekondi-Takoradi in the Western Region, Anthony K.K. Sam have also passed away due to failure of the lung, but close associates have disclosed it as COVID-19.
The information comes at a time when Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah lamented on how Parliamentary Service staff and Member of Parliaments who have tested for Coronavirus have refused to self isolate.
