Naana Opoku Agyemang will be Ghana’s next Vice President – Paramount Chief of Komenda




Paramount chief of Komenda in the Central Region of Ghana, Nana Kojo Kru II believes Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang will be the next Vice President of the Republic of Ghana.

According to the Omanhene of Komenda traditional area, God has ordained her to become the next Vice President of the country. He added that, the community is proud of her and will support her in prayers and strength.

He however pointed out that her appointment was based on merit and not gender related.

“We are proud of you. We love. We know that you were selected not just because you are a woman, but because you are extremely competent”, he stated.

Nana Kojo Kru stressed that the Vice President Candidate for the National Democratic Congress was competent and a reliable fellow.

“You are an efficient doer. And we have absolute confidence in you. We trust in you to be a good leader”.

Komenda Omanhene made these remarks when the National Democratic Congress vice Presidential candidate,Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang called on him to announce her visit to the Region  yesterday visited.

She visited her hometown to receive blessing from her people and the chiefs of the Komenda traditional area.

She also went there to officially present herself to the people of the Central Region.

In her speech to the people of Komenda she indicated that, the good people of Komenda should rally behind her and pray for her as she embarks on this journey.

“I’m here today to officially present myself to you, it’s a difficult journey but I believe with your prayers and support I can be successful”

Her visit forms part of her first public appearance after the outdooring ceremony held last Monday at the University of Professional Studies Auditorium in Accra.

The National Democratic Congress vice Presidential candidate was welcomed into the Central Region by teaming youth and women with a rousing show of support amidst drumming and singing.

Prof Naana Opoku Agyemang served as the Minister for Education in the erstwhile Mahama led Administration.
