NPP’s Sir John has passed on

Information reaching Talksafrica.com Political desk indicates that, former General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, affectionately called as Sir John, has passed has passed on eternity.

According to credible source, the sudden demise of the former Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic party occurred yesterday evening at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.

He was the Boss in charge of the Forestry Comission of Ghana. 

Meanwhile, Communication Director of H.E Nana Akufo-Akufo, Eugene Arhin shared a tribute some few minutes after the sad news of the passing of Kwadwo Afriyie Owusu was announced.

RIP Sir John…Till we meet again,” he wrote on Facebook.

Biography

Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie was born in the Ashanti Region of Ghana and attended Seventh Day Adventist Secondary School in Bekwai from where he obtained his GCE Ordinary level certificate.

He proceeded to obtain his GCE Advanced level certificate from Konongo Odumase Secondary School in Konongo.[4] He was admitted to study political science at the University of Ghana.

He then enrolled at the Ghana School of Law where he graduated with Bachelor of Laws.

After this he was admitted as a solicitor and counsel for the Supreme Court of Ghana.

He has held several political positions including serving as general secretary of the New Patriotic Party. He was serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Forestry Commission of Ghana before his demise.
