The Office of the former President of the Republic of Ghana Ft. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings has been closed down following fears of contacting COVID-19.
The decision was made after several institutions took the initiative to closed down their offices to prevent the spread of the virus.
In a press release from the office of the Ex-president, it stated that “the closure is due to the unfortunate spread of the COVID-19”.
The release further stated “the decision is aimed at protecting staff and potential visitors” and it will be reviewed after two weeks.
However, the former president urged the general public to observe the safety measures outlined to help in the fight against the virus.
Meanwhile, GRIDCo, BOST and COCOBOD are among some other institutions who have currently shut down operations to avoid the spread of the disease.
