Okudzeto Ablakwa raises concern about anomalies on Free SHS data

Member of Parliament for North Tong Constituency Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa has raised concern about an unpardonable inconsistencies from the government that have marred the Free SHS data in the mid-year budget.

A Facebook post of the legislator sighted by talksafrica.com, revealed that, the Mid-Year Review document delivered in Parliament, Page 44 informs us that Form 3 students are 362,108 while page 97/paragraph 468 on the other hand presents a different figure of 313,837 with a variance of 48,271.

According to Ablakwa, it will be recalled that, the second figure of 313,837 was recently surreptitiously amended by President Akufo-Addo and Deputy Education Minister Dr. Adutwum to 375,737 in their infamous Facebook posts after an analysis he published.

He further reiterated that, there are almost a dozen other numbers flying all over the place from government official documents adding that, one may ask, what is really going on.

“Considering that Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta reveals we have spent GHS3.2billion so far on Free SHS (see page 2 of Mid-Year Review), are we sure we are getting value for money and that the proverbial Ghanaian ghosts have not emerged once again?.” He lamented.

The Member of parliament in his conclusion remarks called on the government for an independent audit of all these numbers.
