Plot to disenfranchise many Ghanaians fail- NDC Volta

The Volta Regional National Democratic Congress (NDC) party has said it was going to retain all 18 parliamentary seats in the region despite intimidation the region suffered by government during the voter registration exercise.

Speaking at a press conference today, on the just ended voter registration exercise, the NDC Regional General Secretary, Mr. James Gunu commended the people of the Volta Region for the enthusiasm they showed during the exercise.
According to him, that sent a message to government that the people were ready for the 2020 elections.
Analysing the registration results, Mr Gunu said despite all the intimidations and harassment from the security agencies, “We have remained focused and committed to the rescue mission and this has yielded good results”.
Comparing figures from what he described as the strongholds of the NPP in the Ashanti Region and Eastern region, Mr. Gunu said the Volta region has performed creditably well even though there was some reduction in figures as compared to the number of registered voters of the region as at 2019.
He said “Volta  has a difference of minus 71,101, a difference of 58, 658 for the Ashanti Region and Eastern region 124, 850”.
The Volta Region he said, remained the world bank of the NDC, and therefore no tactics that will be deployed by the NPP
The battle line has been drawn between the NDC and the NPP and beyond adding that the NDC was on a rescue mission to liberate Ghanaians from the NPP government as it has failed Ghanaians woefully.
“We want to reassure you that we are going to work hard to retain all 18 parliamentary seats in the Volta Region and garner 98 percent of the presidential votes for John and Jane”.
