President Akuffo Addo begins tour to Western and Central Regions today


The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo will begin his two-day tour to Western and Central Regions respectively to commission projects initiated by his government.

According to a statement issued by the Presidency, President Akuffo-Addo will pay courtesy call on Traditional rulers in the two regions and inspect work on the ongoing construction of Ankyernyin Egyam road.

The statement said the two-day visit will begin with a meeting with the Regional House of Chiefs at Sekondi, followed by a visit at the Essiam Bypass and the Railway Training School at Essikado.

The statement said the President will move to Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira constituency to inspect the Axim Fishing Habour Project.

President Akuffo-Addo will then draw curtains to the Western Region visit with the breaking grounds for the construction of the Ghana Petroleum Corporation Operational Headquarters at Takoradi in fulfillment of his 2016 manifesto pledge.

The President on Thursday, August 20, will cut sod for the construction of a landing site and fishing harbour at Elmina in the Komenda, Edina, Eguafo, and Abirem constituency.

On Saturday, the President will also cut sod for the construction of the National Health Insurance Authority office at Cape Coast.

The statement concluded that President Akuffo-Addo will crown the tour with the launch of the New Patriotic Party 2020 manifesto.
