President Akuffo Addo cautions leaders to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols


President Nana Akuffo Addo has admonished all government appointees to provide leadership, for the adherence of COVID-19 safety protocols.

He said that will help the nation defeat COVID-19.

This was stated in a statement signed by Director of Communications at the Office of the President, Eugene Arhin, saying that the President accepts the resignation of the Deputy Minister For Trade and Industry,

The statement said “President Akuffo Addo is admonishing all of his appointees to bear in mind that they are to provide leadership, at all times, for adherence to the protocols that have been established to help the nation defeat COVID-19”

The resignation of the Deputy Trade and Industry Minister, Carlos Ahenkorah, was sought after he visited various registration centers in his constituency, Tema West.

Carlos Ahenkorah who is also Member of Parliament for Tema West, resigned shortly after pressure mounted on him to resign from his position, after breaching the COVID-19 protocol.

President however recognizes the resignation as a step in the right direction adding that it was an honorable act.

The statement further said the President wishes Carlos Ahenkorah well.
