President Akuffo-Addo orders Ministry of Gender to provide meals to final year students in basic schools 

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has ordered the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Protection to provide hot meals to every Junior High School and Senior High School students who are writing final exams to ensure full observance of COVID-19 safety protocols. 
He said over 5,000 JHS students and about 5,000 teachers will be provided with one hot meal a day to reduce spread of Coronavirus.
“We are not providing freebies, we are providing critical support to families, friends and loved ones”, he said.
The President said this during his 15th speech measures taken against Coronavirus on Sunday.
The President also said the borders remain closed until further notice and beaches and night clubs also remain closed.
He congratulated the Chairperson of the EC, Madam Charlotte Osei and her two deputies, for good work in with regards to the Voter’s registration exercise.
“The process was overwhelmingly orderly successful”, the President said.
He called on the Ghana police service police to deal with perpetrators who misconducted themselves during the registration exercise.
As at 24 th July, 2020, Ghana recorded about 3,300 active cases, and as at August 15, 2020, the active cases reduced to 1, 847.
“A clear indication that government policies are working”, the President noted.
He said about 40, 567 people have recovered, and that he said shows the number has improved from.89.5 to 95.5 percent for recovery rate.
He urged Ghanaians to adhere to all the protocols made available for protection against COVID-19.
