Renovations to Achimota Oval almost completed

The Ghana Cricket Association (GCA) have revealed that renovations on the 3-bay practice nets of the Achimota Cricket Oval are almost done.

The GCA revealed this on the association’s official twitter handle saying “We Are Almost There! Our 3-bay practice net is almost done.”

Renovations on the Oval had begun on 20th August 2020 with Acting Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the GCA, Eugene King, revealing that the association were taking advantage of the ongoing COVID-19 situation to fix up a number of facilities.

“It’s part of our programme line-up for the year and due to the COVID-19 we’ve decided we prefer to take advantage of the situation to renovate all these facilities so that when the season fully opens training will resume in a much better atmosphere and environment.”

“It’s not only the Achimota Cricket Oval we also plan renovating that of the Obuasi Cricket Oval. We intend building others [cricket ovals] in the country. So it is not restricted to only the Achimota Cricket Oval.” He concluded
