The Rugby League Federation Ghana (RLFG) has launched an online tutorial for anyone interested in taking up the sport. The tutorial is being organised by Coordinator of Schools Rugby League Collins Ofosu who spoke exclusively to Talks Africa revealing that the tutorial is being targeted at the youth.
“They [Youth] were the main target in mind cause since I will not be able to move around if I am able to get this and share it to them it will make things a lot easier,” Collins said
The RLFG has been active during the ongoing pandemic organising online tournaments and participating in coaching courses and according to Collins, there is more to come from the RLFG.
“Our goals are far from achieved but we are gaining traction by the minute, the little things in this case count so the more we do the little things correctly the more we can sustain it get it to the people and make sure that they have some interest in it.”
The RLFG headed by President Nana Prempeh this month announced a one-year deal with Xile Sports Limited which will see the sports apparel company named the federation’s official sportswear partner as well as launched the “Pretty Girls Play Rugby League” campaign last week 2nd July 2020 as a means to tackle the stereotyping of sports ladies especially those involved in Rugby League.
