RLFG to hold blood donation exercise


The Rugby League Federation Ghana (RLFG) is set to hold a blood donation exercise from 7AM-12PM at the Decathlon Ghana premises, Nungua Barrier on 17th October 2020.

This forms part of the revitalised sports federation’s corporate social responsibilities as they look to give back to the community. In a statement by the federation, the RLFG “is concerned about the health, fitness and general wellbeing of individuals and in so doing giving back to the community through this exercise is the first and basic step.”

The statement also revealed the federation’s sponsors for the event which includes the Ghana Blood Bank Service, Decathlon Ghana, Twellium Industrial Company, Awake Purified drinking water, Promasidor, Nestle Ghana, Tobinco Pharmaceuticals limited, Ernest Chemists Limited.

“The RLFG seeks to build, generate player wealth and worth, and instil strong value in Ghanaians as geared towards the overall development of the Rugby League in Ghana.” The statement further read

Ghana Rugby League has been making waves in the Rugby League world ever since its revitalisation in 2015 from holding the first University of Ghana (UG) Inter-Hall Rugby League Championships in March 2016 to finishing 3rd in their first international appearance at the 2019 Middle East Africa (MEA) Rugby League Championship. The country is also currently ranked 3rd in Africa and 33rd in the World.


The Rugby League Federation Ghana Blood Donation is slated for 17th October 2020, from the hours of 7AM-12PM at the Decathlon Ghana premises, Nungua Barrier.
