Director of communication of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Sammy Gyamfi has refuted the claims made by the New Patriotic Party that, under the leadership of Prof. Naana Jane OpokuAgyeman as the Education Minister was when teachers were been treated inhumanely with the introduction of teachers working for two years without being paid and being restricted to being paid only three months back pay, no matter how long they had worked.
Sammy Gyamfi’s argument is in response to the governing New Patriotic Patry’s claim that the John Mahama’s running mate, Professor Jane NaanaOpoku-Agyemang poorly managed the educational sector which led to the scrapping of the teacher trainee while serving as Minister in John Dramani Mahama’s administration
In a sixth press briefing of the NDC on Wednesday, Sammy Gyamfi said these claims were false.
The Director of Communication NDC has noted the desperate fabrications being peddled by the NPP about the sterling record of Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as Minister for Education is false.
According to him the decision to replace Teacher Trainee allowance with student loan was a cabinet decision and not a ministerial decision.
