International Relations Officer of The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana [PFAG], Yusif Alhassan Chibsah has entreated some Ghanaian Clubs to pay off the salary arrears of their players.
According to the former Asante Kotoko player some top notch clubs in the country owe players for over six and he can attest to it.
“I can confirm to you that a big club in the Ghana Premier League owes it players six months’ salary”, he told Asempa FM.
He further added that, disclosing the names of these clubs will not be prudent as he believes they are professional clubs and know the right thing to do.
He also stressed that, mass exodus of players can be forestalled when the players are giving befitting conditions to stay in the league.
“I prefer to keep the name of the club but it is not fair to treat a player like that. We want our players to stay in the Premier League but if you treat them in such manner, they are left with no option than to leave.
Chibsah urged them to pay off the salaries of the players despite the impact of the Covid-19.
“PFAG is calling on all the clubs to make sure they pay their players in these crisis. We are aware that there is no football but the players have contracts with the clubs.”
