Streetwise Foundation makes a donation to GBA


The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) on  3rd June 2020 received a donation from the Streetwise Foundation at the authority’s office in the Trust Sports Emporium.

The donation which included food items was an initiated by former IBF lightweight champion Richard Commey who serves as the foundation’s global ambassador to support boxers during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are all in trying times and looking at things and know what the boxers can offer and some of them now they don’t even have enough at home and everyone is struggling. This is what we can do in order to help them, to encourage them never to give up.” Commey said

GBA boss Peter Zwennes received the donation and thanked the management of Streetwise for the donation.

“On behalf of the executive board of the Ghana Boxing Authority, we wish to express our gratitude and appreciation to Streetwise Foundation particularly to the founder Mr. Amoo-Bediako and of course our world champion here who initiated the move to have this presentation made.”

This is not the first time the Streetwise Foundation has offered aid to the GBA, with CEO of the foundation Michael Amoo-Bediako donating boxing equipment to the authority back in 2019 to both the professionals and the amateurs compete at the highest level.
