Leadership of the Tenants Association of Ghana, has paid a courtesy call on the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at the Jubilee House today August 3.
The courtesy call according to the leadership is to express appreciation to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP: Development in Freedom) for the announcement of government policy to revise/amend the current rent law and institute the National Rental Assistance Scheme (NRAS).
Addressing the leadership, Dr. Bawumia reiterated that, the NRAS will be seeded with GH¢100 million, to provide low-interest loans to eligible Ghanaians to enable them pay rent advance.
To the leadership, the issues of housing and cost of rent, as well as, regulations governing them are of utmost significance to the daily lives of Ghanaians.
Adding that, the housing policy would also place an emphasis on social housing for the poor.
