Kumawood actor, Bill Asamoah has revealed that the COVID-19 has impacted on the Kumawood movie negatively.
In a live Showbiz review interview on Hitz fm this morning, the actor disclosed that, prior to the pandemic the Kumawood movie industry was facing some challenges with at least two cinema houses working but due to the lockdown in the recent pandemic none of the cinema houses work.
However, Bill Asamoah explained that the negative impact of the COVID-19 has affected many of the people who depend solely on the acting to earn an income.
He added that, the welfare committee has been supportive to the actors and actress in need and the aged amongst them by giving them the necessary stuff they need with the help of the government by contributing with bags of rice and other goods to help support them.
According to Bill Asamoah, although the government has been supportive to the industry during this pandemic, the industry still needs large support from them in terms of promoting the industry and also help come up with an application which is closer to Netflix so as many local producers could put up their movies on the application.
