Former Deputy Information Minister and aspiring Member of Parliament for Abura Asebu Kwamankese has descended on the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo with jabs on his Facebook wall. He said “This is actually a man who couldn’t keep his promise to God to build him Cathedral”
According to the former Deputy Minister and aspiring MP, another of the puerile claims of the NPP is that, because President Mahama didn’t do what he has promised in the 2020 manifesto between 2013 and 2017,he should not be believed.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu further opined that, his response to them is that President Akufo-Addo should go and sit home and stop wasting our time with a re-election bid because he could have done everything he is promising in his 2020 manifesto between 2017 and 2021.
Meanwhile, the aspiring legislator said, for the benefit of the NPP folks who claim that Akufo-Addo and the NPP were only opposed to the rate of VAT(17.5%) when it was first introduced in 1995,below is the exact quote by Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, then Minority Spokesperson on Finance, when VAT was re-introduced in 1998 at 10%,as captured in the Parliamentary Hansard of the day.
