Ten players of the senior national football team, the Black Stars, have arrived at the teams camp in Antalya, Turkey.
Eight of the these players arrived at the Xanthe Resort & Spa on Monday to team up with Samuel Owusu and Razak Abalora who travelled with the local contingent on Saturday. They include Baba Idrisu, Benson Annang, Kamaldeen Suleyman and Nicholas Opoku.
The rest are Gideon Mensah, Eugene Ansah, Emmanuel Lomotey and Lawrence Ati-Zigi.
Ghana will hold its first training session at the Emir Sports complex in Antalya, Tuesday afternoon.
Ghana will take on Mali and Qatar in two separate friendly games in Antalya, Turkey.
The Black Stars will play Mali on Friday, 9th October 2020 before taking on Qatar on Monday, 12th October 2020. Both games will be played behind closed doors and under strict COVID-19 protocols.
Goalkeeper Richard Ofori will however miss Ghana’s friendlies. The South Africa-based shot stopper who has been Ghana’s safest pair of hands since 2016, has been ruled out of the games due to his work permit expiring and would require at least, two weeks for it to be renewed. Head Coach C.K Akonnor, will now have two goalkeepers, Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Razak Abalora, available for selection.
Akonnor has also handed late call ups to Turkey based duo, Caleb Ekuban (Trabzonspor) and Joseph Paintsil (Ankaragucu). Ekuban has been drafted in to replace John Antwi, while, Paintsil replaces Lumor Agbenyenu.
