Update: Parents troop Accra Girls to withdraw their wards

Some parents who have their wards at the Accra Girls Senior High School have tripped to the school to withdraw their children.

They had to withdraw them due to the rise in Coronavirus cases in the school.

On Saturday, July 4, six students tested positive for the novel virus after tests were run by the Ga East Municipal Hospital on about eleven students on campus.

Talksafrica.com recalls that six out of the 11 students tested positive, and have therefore been sent to the same hospital for treatment. Thus, the reason for which they want to withdraw their wards.

The situation was uncomfortable for the people in the school, however, officials from the Ayawaso Health Directorate had to take care of the situation to minimize the spread.

According to some of the parents, they will not wait for the students to get infected and spread the virus before taking any action. Hence, the decision to withdraw them and take them home.

A parent lamented over the fact that the school authorities were not communicating with them to know the latest developments in the school.

They are however calling on the authorities to provide the needed information to help ease the situation at hand. Meanwhile, there is heavy security presence at the Accra Girls Senior High School and parents are not allowed to withdraw their wards as they demand.
