VIP bus with registration number GT 5313-19, yesterday plunged into River Oti at Dambai in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oto Region.
The VIP bus which was enroute to Wulensi from Accra was travelling with passengers when it plunged into the river.
It however lost control while manoeuvring to get onto the ferry.
A passenger, Obed Kagbetor who spoke with the GNA said that the driver instructed them to alight from the bus to enable him pack on the ferry.
“And the next thing was a pandemonium and struggle for safety, he suspected a break failure”, he said.
An excavator that was deployed to pull out the bus was unsuccessful, however, a tractor successfully pulled the bus out of the river.
Personal belongings and other items belonging to the passengers such as motor bikes and bicycles were salvaged from the river.
