Voter register: EC set to extend period of registration at delayed Centres

The Electoral Commission of the Republic of Ghana is extending periods of registration at centres where registration delayed due to activation and network problems.

In a statement signed and issued yesterday Sunday, 12 July, 2020 by the Public Affairs Director of EC Miss Sylvia Annoh, some registration centres in the country experienced technical problems as a result of bad network and therefore could not start on the stipulated time of 7:00 am.

According to the EC and commencement of the exercise details of the extension for affected registration centres will be communicated in due course.

In the statement, the Commission added that, the 3rd Phase of the registration exercise which began yesterday July 12, will end on July 17, 2020 thus Friday.

The EC therefore called on all eligible applicants scheduled to register during the 3 Phase to make themselves available at their respective registration centres to go through the process as voters.

The Commission admonished that, Ghanaians, should follow and observe all the safety protocols spelt out at the various registration centres, further urging all stakeholders to cooperate with it to make the ongoing exercise a success.
