General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia popularly called General Mosquito has descended heavily on Military personnel stationed at Banda in the Bono region, after his encounter with them when an alleged busloads of people were denied access to registration Centres in the town by the military, He said “You should see those military officers on duty smelling of alcohol; blowing ‘fuse’ when they were talking to me.”
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, in response to his furious encounter with the military, the NDC Scribe, opined that, “The military officers on duty have no business to stop people from taking part in the registration exercise
According to the General Secretary, the military can’t block the road to stop people from registering because it’s act of intimidation and disenfranchisement.
To him, “They looked like rebels on drugs and you could not look into their eyes and if you don’t take care, you will get drunk talking them.”
