Fire outbreak at a COVID-19 facility kills 7

Seven persons have died following a massive fire outbreak at a Coronavirus hotel facility in India.

The incident which occurred on Sunday around 5 a.m. in Vijayawada, India’s southern state of Andhra Pradesh trapped and injured many. About 22 COVID-19 patients were being treated at the facility before the outbreak.
According to a Constable of the Police control room, those who were trapped have been rescued and many who were injured have been moved to a government hospital
“Fire is under control but a rescue and firefighting operations are underway”, the constable said.
The rescue workers, however, have been looking for survivors.
The Chief Minister of India Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy has thus called for an investigation into the hotel fire outbreak. The Chief Minister also extends condolence to the affected families.
India recorded a fire outbreak last week, where eight COVID-19 patients died in a fire that broke out in the intensive care unit of a hospital.
